Spring isn’t the only one to let her blue ribbon flutter every year; BIOL – one of the oldest and most famous olive oil competitions around the world – is also proud to keep time-old traditions alive. As in previous years, our fine D.O.P. Olive Oil, extra virgin took the coveted gold medal once again in 2016.

The delectable cuvée blended from the olive varieties Morajolo, Frantoio and Leccino boasts an especially harmonious taste and goes wonderfully well with light fish dishes in spring, for example.

Our spring tip for a taste of the Mediterranean that will leave you longing for summer: canapés with olive tapenade – combine 150 g pitted green olives, 1 tsp capers, 1 tsp Byodo Dijon Mustard, 1 tsp cognac and 4 tbsp Byodo D.O.P. Olive Oil, extra virgin with a little lemon juice and fresh pepper in a mixer to produce a smooth paste. Pre-toast baguette slices in the oven, spread with the paste and toast briefly.
