6 Byodo Products Receive Highest Accolade
Once again Byodo products not only scored highly for their exclusive use of 100% organic ingredients, but managed to stimulate the judges’ senses across the board. The decision of the panel at the DLG Test Center Food was unanimous, and once again this year they awarded the DLG gold medal – the highest accolade for foodstuffs satisfying all of the test criteria with no exceptions – to six of our products.
DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) has been promoting the quality of foodstuffs for 125 years and thus also evaluates around 1,000 organic products every year based on a selection of criteria. This was already the 10th year that the organic products quality test was held. In contrast to the EU Organic Logo, which guarantees compliance with prescribed production regulations for organic products, the focus at DLG is much more on “product enjoyment”. In a sensory analysis, the products are tasted and assessed based on their appearance, taste, aroma and consistency. In addition, packaging and labelling tests as well as laboratory tests are also performed. The panel of judges is made up of experienced sensory experts who award the bronze, silver and, in the very best cases, gold DLG medals to honour outstanding quality.

Sensory tests are performed by our quality department as well as the in-house and external Byodo sensory panel. This involves tasting and assessment of the products based of similar criteria to those employed at DLG. In addition, we also gather a large number of consumer opinions in order to ensure you get the best taste and thus 100% enjoyment out of our products!
